Look for colour zoning
Some Green Fluorite is almost evenly coloured, while other pieces show distinct light and dark green layers. Backlighting can make zoning and internal structures more visible, but always compare ordinary-light photos as well.
Growth banding can be a major visual feature
Large polished towers can show strong horizontal layers running across the stone. If you like architectural or geometric mineral patterns, choose a piece where those bands are obvious from the front and side views.

- Sphere: shows colour zoning from every direction.
